Criado em 14 de abril de 1960, através da Lei nº 3.754, e instalado solenemente no dia 06 de setembro do mesmo ano, o Tribunal Regional Eleitoral do Distrito Federal teve como Presidente e Vice-Presidente, respectivamente, em sua primeira gestão, os Excelentíssimos Senhores Desembargadores JOÃO HENRIQUE BRAUNE e MÁRCIO RIBEIRO que, dentre outras atribuições inerentes à Justiça Eleitoral, fizeram iniciar, a partir daquela data, o processo de vinculação do domícilio eleitoral dos pioneiros que decidiram se radicar na Nova Capital (BRASIL. Tribunal Regional Eleitoral do Distrito Federal. De 1960 até as Eleições de 1994. 1996).
